Love Notes in Haiku

I went to Japan
Ben and I texted Haiku
A sample for you

Taken ’round the world,
My heart yearns for your warm breath,
French toast for breakfast.

Blistered and sore toes,
Down with oxfords, she exclaims,
Return of the sandal.

A haiku a day,
Keeps the samurai happy,
I’ll have the pork please.

Awake so early,
Wrapped in tight white hotel sheets,
Miss our disorder.

Many good wishes,
All the love I have to give,
Happy birthday Sue

Let me blink to bring
Tomorrow to destroy that
Sad space between us.

Across many lands,
My love flies home to my side,
I wait by the door.
